The problem: too much transparency
A fully glazed partition brings light and lightness to a space, but it has a downside: it offers no privacy at all. In this project, inside a modern exposed-concrete building, the glass wall separated the entrance from the stairwell, leaving everything behind it (and in front of it) on full view.
The owner wanted to keep the natural light coming from above, while screening the area at eye level so as not to feel exposed to passers-by. Replacing the glass with a frosted one would have been expensive and invasive.
The solution: frosted film with a sandblasted-glass effect
Frosted (satin) film is an opaque adhesive film that is applied directly onto the existing glass and transforms its look: the glass turns milky like factory-frosted glass, letting the light through but not the view.
We applied the film only to the section at eye level, leaving the upper panels clear: this way the space stays bright, but the passage area is private. The installation was carried out to a high standard, with no bubbles or halos, precisely following the divisions of the black frame.

The result: privacy and light together
The result is exactly what was needed: privacy at eye level and natural light from above. The wall now protects the space without weighing it down, and the satin effect blends perfectly with the exposed concrete and the black profiles of the architecture.
