What Swiss law says

Front side windows and windscreen: they must let through at least 70% of light. Only clear anti-UV and heat-reducing films are allowed, ones that don't affect visibility.
Rear side windows and rear window: these can be tinted freely, with no limit on how dark they are. The only condition is that the car has external rear-view mirrors on both sides.
The sun strip at the top of the windscreen is permitted (Art. 71a OETV) as long as it doesn't reduce the driver's visibility. At inspection (MFK) the front windows are measured: non-compliant films must be removed, so always rely on approved materials.
